My native town
For
every person the place where he lives is the best place in the world. Not
because he was born there or he has a house. The best place to live is a town
where you have your family and friends.
For
me Kupyansk is the best town in the world. Though it’s a small town in Kharkiv
region, it’s rather comfortable and cosy. I visited big cities for several
times and I feel uncomfortable being in noisy crowds, especially in rush hours.
Staying in traffic jams and breathing polluted air is pretty unusual and
irritating for me.
In
Kupyansk you can find peaceful atmosphere, unpolluted environment and local
healthy food. I also got used to our tasty pure water from the nature spring.
Kupyansk is a very picturesque town because it is situated on the green hills
at the banks of the beautiful river Oskil.
Our
town has an old history. People have been living at this place since 1655 and
at that time it was called Kupenka. In 1765 the town of Kupyansk got its name. Its
citizens bravely defended it during the Great Patriotic War and they have
always overcome all the difficulties with great courage.
When
you walk along the streets of Kupyansk you will admire with its beautiful St.
Nicolas’s church in the center of the city, beautiful flowerbeds, old buildings
and a big modern shopping center. My favourite place to visit in Kupyansk is
the monument to the Marmot, who is the symbol of Kupyansk.
I
love my native town very much and it’s the best place for me to live.
